Nell Overshirt & Hood Set - Charcoal Check

The UK Made Nell Overshirt & Hood Set in Charcoal Check puts the Nell Overshirt and its matching Detachable Hood together, both cut from our new woven check. Wear them as a hooded jacket, or take the hood off and wear the Nell on its own as an overshirt.

The check is 100% cotton and woven into the cloth rather than printed on. It's then waxed, coated, smoothed and pre-shrunk here in the UK, which makes it water resistant and gives it a clean, hard-wearing finish. We cut every piece asymmetrically, so the check runs in different directions from panel to panel and no two sets come out the same.

The Nell is oversized and boxy with a slight crop, with five pockets, corozo nut buttons and adjustable cuffs. The hood is double lined and attaches straight onto the overshirt.

To make sure your gear goes the distance, every set comes with our Reproofing Spray. Use it to restore and preserve the look, feel, and water-resistant qualities of your dry-waxed cotton.

Between Sizes? We've made the chest and shoulders roomy, so you won't notice much difference there between sizes — focus on the length. Size down for a more cropped fit, size up for a longer one.

How to find your size

We've kept our sizing straightforward - just measure yourself or your favourite jacket and match it to the chart

Chest (pit to pit) - Lay a jacket that fits you well flat on a table. Measure straight across from armpit to armpit. This is your most important measurement.

Shoulder - Measure from where your shoulder seam sits at the neck straight across to where your shoulder ends.

Sleeve Length - Measure from the shoulder seam down to where you want the cuff to sit (we measure to the wrist bone).

Between sizes? If you're on the cusp, think about how you want to wear it. Going for a relaxed fit or planning to layer underneath? Size up. Want it more fitted? Stick with your usual size.
